In class today we watched clips from this movie, in particular the dream sequences. The first dream sequence in which we saw was that with the toilet. The main character, upon having a brief description, was using the restroom because of the heroin hat he had been taking, and while using the restroom his heroin fill into the toilet. The dream sequence started with the main character reaching into the toilet and then slowly being pulled in, thus ending up swimming in the ocean, looking for the "heroin" treasure that lay below. Finally, upon snatching up the heroin, the main character slowly climbs out of the toilet, a successful diver in a sense. The second dream sequence that we watched was that of the main character in his bedroom while going through detoxification. He was hallucinating and seeing various people, including old friends, babies (which were crawling on the ceiling), himself in chains and much more. The main character also felt as though he was being attacked, and would begin screaming and trying to hide deeper into his bed covers.
